Today's Weather — Lower Russian River
Wed, Oct 21, 2026 · 5:57 AM PT — Cody's morning report · Source: NWS Area Forecast Discussion
Hello everyone!
A cool, unsettled day is ahead for us here in the Lower Russian River and Guerneville area, as a cut-off low inching toward the coast spreads rain our way. The cooling trend continues through the end of the week, with highs today in the mid 50s to low 70s.
Beneficial light rain showers are expected Wednesday through Thursday. The first bands arrive this morning to our south, then precipitation wraps around the system and spreads through the Bay Area and North Bay this afternoon, with lingering showers into late Thursday morning. This is a moist system for this time of year, so expect periods of moderate rain at times and reduced visibility in heavier showers.
There is also a chance of boom boom and flashy flashy Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. The main severe threat stays well to our south, but general boom boom and flashy flashy are possible as the main line moves through — and you know this pirate is not a fan of that flashy flashy, so keep an eye on alerts and head inside if you hear it.
By Friday the rain clears out. Warm and dry weather builds in for the weekend, back near seasonal averages, before another trough could bring more rain sometime next week.
